Privacy
This is a one-person auction, not a company with a privacy department. Here is what I collect when you use the site, why I keep it, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who is responsible
Brand My Rimowa is a personal project I run at this website. I decide what happens to the information you send me.
What I collect
When you place a bid I keep:
- the brand name you want on the sticker
- an email address so I can write to you about the bid
- an optional X handle
- an optional link to show on the auction table
- the amount you bid, in euros
- the logo file you upload, so I can review it and print it
- the time the bid was placed, and how it later stood
Stripe processes the card hold and, if you win, the rest of the amount on the same card when the auction closes. I never receive your full card number. Stripe keeps a customer record so that second charge can happen without sending you another checkout.
If a waitlist form is shown, I keep only the email address you type in.
Servers also see ordinary request data — an IP address, a browser — in logs. I do not use that to profile anyone.
Why I use it
To run the auction: hold your spot, review the artwork, print the sticker if you win, show your brand on the board, take the deposit and the rest of a winning bid when the auction closes, and write to you about the bid. A waitlist address is only used to say when something opens.
What appears in public
The auction table shows the brand name and link of standing and past bids. Your email and X handle stay with me for contact, not on the public board. The file you upload is what I look at in review and what I print if the bid is approved. Photographs of the finished case may show the sticker in place.
Who else processes it
Stripe processes the deposit hold and, when bidding closes, the rest of a winning bid. When the site is connected to a database, the bid ledger and artwork files are stored there (Supabase). The host that serves this site sees traffic in the ordinary way. I do not sell the list.
How long I keep it
Bids stay for as long as the auction record is useful, including the history on each spot. Artwork is kept so I can print a winning sticker and so I can review it. Waitlist emails stay until I send that one note, or until you ask me to delete them. Card authorisations live with Stripe and expire on their timeline if they are not captured.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, as far as I still need it to finish a bid or keep the public auction record honest. Get in touch through this site and I will sort it by hand.
Cookies
This site does not set marketing cookies. Stripe may set cookies on their own checkout. The auction desk uses a signed session cookie, which only I use.
Changes
If this note changes in a material way I will update the date at the top.
